Please check out the following note from one of the team members:
"Sweat was pouring down our faces as we sat in the warm church building listening to a language that we did not understand. We had just walked two miles through humid crowded streets carrying bundles of crafts and gifts destined for a children's home that we would visit later that day. We were hot, sweaty, and uncomfortable...but our hearts were filled with joy. Through the 2 1/2 hour church service, we may not have understood the spoken language, but we knew what was going on. Our brothers and sisters in Christ were praising our Lord in the unmistakable language of worship.
When we left Hawaii almost three weeks ago on the 34 hour journey to faraway South Asia, little did we realize that we would encounter such a vibrant body of believers. In fact this country, according to workers inside its borders, has more new believers, per capita, than any place in the world. This was a startling but amazing fact, since it is illegal to proselytize in this spiritually dark place. However, we know that nothing is impossible for God. He is at work in this Hindu/Buddhist country drawing people unto Himself.
During our 10 days in country, we were able to work with local children and youth groups and also teach English classes. We visited monasteries and shrines and did prayer walks around the city. We were greatly encouraged by, and we hope we were equally encouraging to the Western believers. We were able to learn more about how we might be able to help them in the future. God willing, we hope to go back; better educated and equipped to minister to the needs of our brethren in South Asia.
Thank you very much for providing gifts and supplies but most of all, thank you for your prayers; we know, without a doubt, that God answered! Please join us on Sunday, October 22 at 6:00 p.m. for an International Mission Trip Recap. Dinner will be provided. Please RSVP to email@example.com and let us know the number of people who will be attending so we can prepare the proper amount of food. Blessings to you all!"
